Playing With Fire is the fourteenth novel in Peter Robinson's Inspector Banks series, following on from The Summer That Never Was.In the early hours of a cold January morning, two narrow boats catch fire on the dead-end stretch of the Eastvale canal. When signs of accelerant are found at the scene, DCI Banks and DI Annie Cabbot are summoned. But by the time they arrive, only the smouldering wreckage is left, and human remains have been found on both boats. The evidence points towards a deliberate attack. But who was the intended victim? Jättebra, som alltid. jag gillar verkligen dessa böcker och kommer att fortsätta med nästa direkt.

Mina döttrars systrar

Efter att ha varit försvunnen i åtta år återfinns Lucy på ett sjukhus i New York. I hopp om att hon ska vakna ur medvetslösheten berättar hennes systrar Annie och Mimmi för henne om sina liv i Stockholm.
Annie berättar historien om en duktig men osäker flicka som levt sitt liv som fastfrusen i obestämd väntan på något. När hon en dag finner kärleken och vill adoptera ett barn märker hon att de två önskningarna är oförenliga. Mimmis liv har handlat om olika sätt att fly, både från sig själv och från sin omgivning. Lucy rymmer från en kvävande familj och kanske något ännu värre. Det blir berättelser om att våga ta emot kärleken när den dyker upp i annorlunda skepnad, om skrivandets makt och ansvar, om samhällets osynliga förväntningar och skavande roller samt om ett oväntat lyckligt parhusliv.

En bok som var okej på så sätt att jag ville läsa klart den. Men det var lite underligt dysfunktionella människor i den som var ganska obehagliga, tycker jag.

The Soldier's Wife

Detta var en relationsroman som var riktigt spännande. Hur skulle det gå?! Känns skönt att lämna fantasyn och deckarna ett tag. Det var ju flera år sen jag läste den här typen av böcker.

Under ytan

Carrie Bell är tjugotre år och har varit tillsammans med Mike Mayer i åtta år. Ett självklart par i allas ögon, men i bilen på väg mot Clausens Pier och den årliga vårpicknicken med gamla kompisar vill Carrie göra slut på deras relation. Innan hon hinner säga något dyker Mike från piren ner i det oväntat grunda vattnet.
På ett ögonblick förändras deras värld. När Mike vaknar upp ur sin koma är han förlamad från midjan och neråt. Han är för alltid rullstolsbunden och Carries stora dilemma är om hon ska stanna kvar hos honom eller gå vidare med sitt eget liv.

Det var många år sen jag läste en vanlig roman, alltså en bok som inte är en deckare eller fantasy. Det var också många år sen jag läste en bok på svenska. Numera köper jag aldrig översatta böcker (från engelska alltså. Andra språk behöver jag få översatt), men den här har stått i bokhyllan ett tag.

Väldigt spännande bok. BBC har gjort en TV-serie av böckerna och första har släppts på DVD, så den har jag köpt! Jag är också glad över att bok 4 är på gång och att J.K. planerar att göra många fler!
