When Karen Drew is found sitting in her wheelchair staring out to sea with her throat cut one chilly morning, DI Annie Cabbot, on loan to Eastern Area, gets lumbered with the case. Jättebra, som alltid. jag gillar verkligen dessa böcker och kommer att fortsätta med nästa direkt.

Mina döttrars systrar

Efter att ha varit försvunnen i åtta år återfinns Lucy på ett sjukhus i New York. I hopp om att hon ska vakna ur medvetslösheten berättar hennes systrar Annie och Mimmi för henne om sina liv i Stockholm.
Annie berättar historien om en duktig men osäker flicka som levt sitt liv som fastfrusen i obestämd väntan på något. När hon en dag finner kärleken och vill adoptera ett barn märker hon att de två önskningarna är oförenliga. Mimmis liv har handlat om olika sätt att fly, både från sig själv och från sin omgivning. Lucy rymmer från en kvävande familj och kanske något ännu värre. Det blir berättelser om att våga ta emot kärleken när den dyker upp i annorlunda skepnad, om skrivandets makt och ansvar, om samhällets osynliga förväntningar och skavande roller samt om ett oväntat lyckligt parhusliv.

En bok som var okej på så sätt att jag ville läsa klart den. Men det var lite underligt dysfunktionella människor i den som var ganska obehagliga, tycker jag.

The Soldier's Wife

The soldiers are coming home - after six months in Afghanistan. Surely being reunited with their wives and girlfriends and families will be heaven, after the hell they have been through. When Dan Riley returns to his adored wife, Alexa, and their children, his Army life still comes first. Alexa thought she was prepared to help him, and the whole family, to make the transition to normal life again - but no-one had told her how lonely and near impossible the task would be. Does marrying a soldier always have to mean that you are not marrying a man, but a regiment?

Detta var en relationsroman som var riktigt spännande. Hur skulle det gå?! Känns skönt att lämna fantasyn och deckarna ett tag. Det var ju flera år sen jag läste den här typen av böcker.
